The 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan is a tax-deferred supplemental retirement plan sponsored by the Montana Public Employee Retirement Board and held in trust for the exclusive benefit of public employees and their beneficiaries. The Plan is authorized by IRC Section 457(b) and is subject to specific Internal Revenue Service's laws and requirements. It allows employees to voluntarily contribute a portion of their compensation on a pre-tax basis. The amount invested, plus interest credited on any fixed options and any gain on the variable options, is not taxable until withdrawn at a future date.
If you are a State of Montana Employee, University System Employee, or your employer has contracted with MPERA, you are eligible to participate MPERA’s sponsored 457 plan through Great-West Retirement Services.

Administrative Fee - $1.25 flat charge per quarter.
Graduated asset fee, based on your account balance:

The graduated asset fee will never be more than $56.25 per quarter.
